A very warm welcome to our web site

This year the Club celebrates 130 years, being situated within the lovely setting of the Alton Public Gardens since 1954.

We are a friendly outdoor, mixed bowling club and welcome new members....experienced bowlers or those new to the sport. Perhaps you have moved to the area and are looking for a club to join. So whether you like playing competitive bowls or just want to enjoy a social game, Alton Bowling Club could be good for you.

If you are interested in joining our club, why not enjoy a drink from our licenced bar, meet members and watch one of our home evening league or weekend afternoon Friendly games, you will always be made welcome.

We have roll-up sessions on Monday afternoons from 2.30 until early evening, from late April until the end of the season in early September. All are welcome to join in or just come down and meet the members. If you have not played before why not give it a try? Bowls can be supplied but...just one thing, please bring soft flat shoes, to protect the green. Our Club Coaches (Sheila & Brian Crow) will normally be on hand to help you. In fact, you could arrange other convenient times to have coaching sessions with them - tel: 01420 82561

We have teams entered in Leagues on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Thursday afternoons and  Friday evenings. In addition at weekends, mixed friendly games are played, both home and away, against other bowling clubs in the area. For details see the  'Friendlies and Leagues' tab. Informal games can take place anytime during club sessions.

The Club and individual club members enter County and League competitions.

Social events are organised during the playing season and also occasionally during the winter.
