NORTH HAMPSHIRE WOMEN’S BOWLING ASSOCIATION

COMPETITION BYE-LAWS

The Association shall conduct knockout singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, McFauld pairs and Gazette Cup (Inter Club Competition), also a two-wood Singles Competition known as the Dolly Anstey Competition, and a Champion of Champions Singles Competition (Diana Morgan Trophy).  All competitions to be played under the rules of the WBB as laid down in the Bowls England Handbook.

DRESS

At all one day competition games including the Kathleen Mc Fault Pairs, Dolly Anstey Two Wood, Champion of Champions, Gazette Cup and Semi-Finals of the Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours, Regulation Dress shall be worn: white or cream top, or registered Club coloured tops provided they are worn by the whole team (blouses with collars or jumpers with no patterns with short or long sleeves, sleeveless or lacy-patterned are not allowed), white or cream skirt or dress, two pleats at front and two at back, length just below the knee, white or cream culottes, tailored full-length trousers or tailored cropped trousers of opaque material.  Brown, grey or white shoes shall be worn on the green.  Hats are optional at all times, but when worn must be of an approved style (no plastic, nylon or sun hats).  Tights or stockings are optional at all times, but if worn must be in shades of brown. 

For all other competitions up to and including the quarter finals the dress will be white above the waist, grey regulation skirt or trousers, or registered Club coloured tops provided they are worn by the whole team, and brown, white or grey bowling shoes.  Pop socks and ankle socks are only allowed when wearing full-length tailored trousers.  Jewellery, if worn, must be in moderation.

SMOKING

Smoking by a player is NOT permitted on the green or while the game is in progress.

GREEN FEES

All Green Fees for competitions in the North Hampshire Women’s bowling Association are to be the responsibility of the host club.

 

 

COMPETITIONS

Singles Championship

The game shall consist of 21 shots, four bowls per player.  Each affiliated Club may nominate any number of players.  Singles semi-finals and final to have a neutral marker.

Pairs Championship

The game shall consist of 21 ends, four bowls each player.  In the case of a tie an extra end must be played.  Each affiliated Club may nominate any number of pairs.

Triples Championship

The game shall consist of 18 ends, three bowls each player.  In the case of a tie an extra end must be played.  Each affiliated Club may nominate any number of triples.

Fours Championship

The game shall consist of 21 ends, two bowls each player.  In the case of a tie an extra end must be played.  Each affiliated club may nominate any number of fours.
